Introduction

Located at Fornebu outside of Oslo, Snøhetta has redesigned and expanded Norwegian fashion brand Holzweiler’s multi-brand store.

The store is designed to allow customers to experience products in dialogue with one another in an organic yet curated way. The space is organized around large, custom-made pieces of furniture that work together to create a distinct atmosphere through their function, form and color.

Centrally placed in the store is a large aluminum arch, acting as a transparent filter in the space with storage opportunities and an organic line for hanging products.

Conscious Material Choices

Conceptually, the space works with themes such as suspension, perception and prepositions – how being around or in between the central artifacts affects one’s experience of being in the space beyond the physical presence.

The store design employs reused and upcycled materials to avoid waste. The point of sale counter is covered in local Norwegian granite and utilizes old construction materials as a base.

The store space is covered by three custom-made carpets made of recycled Holzweiler silk scarves from previous collections.

The Holzweiler Multi store is where one can discover something new with each visit due to the flexible zoning options, display opportunities, and product choices. It is a place for wandering and exploring the Holzweiler universe across several dimensions.

Large shelf islands made of red-oiled pine with leather inserts in organic shelf extensions are used to display key items, presenting the multi-brand products in relation to one another to create a holistic customer experience.
