This housing complex consisting of five apartments, is situated at Vindern in Oslo. The area Vindern has been under
major development the last years.
Characteristic villas have been replaced by 4-5 stories housing complexes. Holmenveien 6B is a housing complex four stories tall including parking area in the basement underground. The site is almost flat and measures 1 290m2. The foot print of the house is 385m2. There are two apartments at ground floor, one at
first floor and two at second floor.
The original character in the area has inspired us through form, materials and detailing. Cladded in horizontal black painted wood panels, the rectangular volume is positioned on a `base` of whitepigmented concrete. The contrast in the use of the materials and colors, recessed areas in addition to large areas of glass, makes a variation in the architectural
expression. The wooden house opens up towards south and becomes more introvert towards north. The tall, narrow windows
towards north express the generous ceiling height within the building at the same time as it brings daylight deep into the building.
