Introduction

The Annecy Congress Centre will be a new space for exhibition, seminar and conferences within the region. With its exceptional location on the lake, the peninsula Albigny is extremely important space for the city of Annecy. The breathtaking view of the water and exceptional landscape create a stunning starting point for Snøhetta's design. The primary objective of the design team is to combine architecture and landscape design, creating a public space for the local inhabitants and international visitors to enjoy.

The project site will be punctuated by a new canal that draws the water from the adjacent lake inland alongside the new Congress Center.

Visitors will enter the building by crossing a boulder bridge over the canal and into the Center.

This landscape design also allows light into the below ground floors, keeping the building height to a minimum, while still creating comfortable interiors filled with natural light.
