Snøhetta launches the Aura collection with Viabizzuno

In collaboration with renowned Italian lighting manufacturer Viabizzuno, Snøhetta has explored lighting design in a revolutionary new way - focusing on light itself, rather than the form that holds it. Together they have developed the Aura Collection, launching during Milan Design Week 2025.

In physics, light is 100% predictable. With this in mind, the collaborative process started with a simple, but defining question: Could we design light itself, rather than the form that holds it? Using advanced mathematical calculations and ray tracing, the team has sculpted light into an invisible vortex—seamlessly optimizing its direction, quality, and impact, resulting in the Aura collection.

"Rather than designing a fixture to hold light, we set out to design light itself—sculpting it with precision and control. This collection embodies the intersection of physics, engineering, and design, made possible through our close collaboration with Viabizzuno.
