Tuballoon Exhibited at the Centre Pompidou-Metz

Feb 05, 2021

Snøhetta’s project Tuballoon is featured in an ongoing exhibition dubbed “Aerodream. Architecture, design and inflatable structures 1950 - 2020” at the Centre Pompidou in Metz, France.

The exhibition reveals the human dimension of the «pneumatic», from the first industrial and military exploitations (airships, weather balloons, floating assemblies, inflatable decoys...) to the experiences developed by numerous artists designers and architects.

Tuballoon is mounted annually during the reputable Kongsberg Jazz Festival. The pneumatic tension membrane structure measures 20 meters in height and approximately 40 meters in length. Its geometry is suggestive of natural acoustic forms, such as musical wind instruments and geometries of the inner ear.

The exhibition can be experienced at the Centre Pompidou-Metz from January 30 to August 23, 2021.
