Space for Celebration?

Richard Wood, Managing Director Asia, is invited to give a keynote presentation at The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) National Convention 2025.

Titled "Space for Celebration?", Richard's sharing will explore the transformative power of architecture in shaping spaces that celebrate life, culture, and community. At Snøhetta, we believe in creating environments that inspire connection and foster a sense of belonging. From the iconic Norwegian Opera and Ballet, where the city meets the fjord, to the serene underwater dining experience at "Under" in Norway, to Times Square where the city has been radically transformed to allow for civic life, our projects are a testament to the harmony between nature, design, and human experience.

In Asia, our work continues to push boundaries. The Shibuya Upper West Project in Tokyo reimagines urban living by blending vibrant cultural spaces with serene retreats, embodying the duality of Tokyo's energy and tranquility. Similarly, the AIRSIDE mixed-use project in Hong Kong integrates sustainable practices with dynamic public spaces, setting a new standard for urban development. These projects, alongside others like the Beijing Library, showcase our commitment to designing for the future while honoring local traditions.
